This masterclass is a deep dive in to acting in front of the microphone. Our source material will be scenes from contemporary and classic plays and audio dramas. A mixture of comedic, punchy and dramatic - all great to get your teeth stuck in to!
The session will focus on a series of scene studies working with other actors to bring a scene truly to life. There will be a couple of acting exercises however the focus of this masterclass is maximum rehearsal and recording time. This session gives you the chance to really hone your voice acting skills whilst getting used to taking professional direction from a director.
You'll be trained and coached in professional acting techniques first popularised by Stanislavski and Meisner. These techniques will hone and deepen your acting skills connecting you with the text and help you unearth subtext, character, delivery and more.
Always wanted to voice a particular scene ? Bring it! The last part of the session will be a chance to choose your own script and record it. (There will be plenty of options if you don't want to bring a scene don't worry!)
The workshop is led by the founder of Compass Studio, a working professional voice actor and director, showing real industry techniques and skills. It is likely to be attended by people who have attended other Compass Studio Workshops and so a great opportunity to reconnect with the fantastic talent and humans that live in the southwest!
